Nintendo World Championships Are Back!

The Nintendo World Championships are back! The first event was held in March of 1990 and toured 29 cities. A special cartridge was created for the 90 finalists to receive after the event, which is considered to be the most rare cartridge for the Nintendo Entertainment System, with collectors paying over $10,000 per copy. Even more rare, is a special gold version of the cartridge produced for a Nintendo Power giveaway. Only 26 copies of this special giveaway cartridge were produced.

The World Championships returned in May 2015 for the 25th anniversary.
