The clubhouse lands in a town where Senator Swell is scheduled to make an appearance.  DJ has the kids pick out magazines from a local vendor to show them Earth culture and teach them about paragraph structure.  When rumors begin circling around town that aliens are nearby, reporter Ruth Less shows up at the clubhouse looking for the scoop.  She begins making up wild stories that will make her article more appealing.  Meanwhile, singer Kurt Camera-On has arrived to inform the kids that by purchasing the one millionth copy of Teen Scene magazine they have won co-starring roles in his new music video - which he wants to film at the clubhouse.  When Colonel Bragg arrives on an advance inspection tour ahead of Senator Swell's arrival, Ruth begins making accusations of a government cover-up of the alien sightings.  The Senator does eventually show up, much to everyone's annoyance, as he is as incompetent as the other characters visiting the clubhouse.
